In early July 2025, our team conducted the first integration test in Bremen, marking a significant milestone in our preparation for the upcoming REPMUS 2025 exercise in Portugal.
REPMUS Integration Test Overview
The primary objective of the integration test was to deploy our sophisticated AI algorithm on a cutting-edge RoboDog, enabling it to execute its mission autonomously.
Three phases of REPMUS integration test:
- Communication Testing: This step involved establishing robust communication between our AI algorithm and the RoboDog. This phase was crucial to ensure that the RoboDog could receive his AI-based mission.
- Mission Execution: The next step was assigning the actual mission to the RoboDog. The AI algorithm guided the RoboDog through its mission, demonstrating its capability to operate autonomously.
- Mode Switching: A key aspect of the test was the RoboDog's ability to switch between its two mission modes. In first mission mode, the RoboDog patrolled and surveilled the test premises in Bremen. Upon detecting an unauthorized intruder, the RoboDog seamlessly switched to second mission mode, following the intruder until they left the premises. The RoboDog then switched back to the first mission mode, resuming its patrol duties.
Results and Insights from the REPMUS Integration Test
The integration test was a resounding success. We achieved reliable communication between both systems, enabling the RoboDog to autonomously execute the mission. The RoboDog's ability to switch between patrol and pursuit modes demonstrated the robustness and flexibility of our AI algorithm.
What is REPMUS 2025 – and why will 21strategies participate?
The REPMUS 2025 (Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping using Maritime Uncrewed Systems) exercise from September 1 to September 26, is organized by the Portuguese Navy, Porto University, NATO and EDA. This annual exercise brings together NATO’s military forces, tech companies, universities and developers to test and demonstrate unmanned systems in a collaborative environment.
For 21strategies, participating in REPMUS 2025 represents the next logical step in our journey from simulation in the Defense Metaverse to real-world scenarios.
At REPMUS 2025, we will showcase our Third Wave AI decision-making algorithms deployed on RoboDogs. These RoboDogs will be able to act fully autonomously, making real-time decisions without scripts or human intervention. REPMUS exercise will serve as a platform to highlight the potential of AI in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of unmanned systems.
